The
first half of this concert is an all French affair, but with two very different partners.
Fauré’s incidental music to Maeterlinck’s play is wistful and limpid, contrasting with the
bright elegance of Ibert’s concerto, to be performed by the orchestra’s popular
principal flautist. The concert closes with one of the towering achievements of
classical music, Mozart’s last symphony.
Tickets are now on sale from Ringwood Town Council; children free.
