Salisbury Sinfonia was established in 1992 by its founding conductor Michael Moorsom and a group of local players. It has presented an annual season of concerts in and around Salisbury ever since. It aims to provide interesting and varied programmes of music ranging from the classical period to contemporary works. It also sets out to encourage young, particularly local, instrumental soloists, composers and conductors.
Salisbury Sinfonia Concert Society was formed in 1996 as a non-profit making organisation. It is a registered charity, and a member of Making Music.
